Green Bean Casserole Recipe

Green bean casserole is truly a classic family favorite. It's the side dish I use when I'm serving a main dish that's not my kid's favorite. I always know they will at least eat this casserole since they love it.

It's just such a simple and fun way to serve green beans. To make this dish healthier, you can use a reduced sodium and or low fat version of the cream of mushroom soup.

Green Bean Casserole Recipe

Ingredients: 1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, 4 cups cooked canned green beans or frozen green beans, 1/8 teaspoon pepper, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 cup milk (note if using frozen green beans, decrease milk to 1/3 cup),1 1/3 cups French fried onions.

Directions: Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine soup, milk, and pepper. Stir in beans and 2/3 cup of the French fried onions. Bake for 25 minutes. Then top with the remaining French fried onions and bake 5 more minutes.
