I need some help organizing my bedroom walls!

by Kayla
(Wisconsin)

My walls are way to full of horse posters, pictures, drawings, etc.

My mom is having an inspection really soon for our apartment, and I really want to help it go well by organizing my room. But... I have no idea how to organize my room. I am totally horse crazy! I printed off some tips on organizing a room and a closet but I searched and searched for a topic of organize a wall. My wall is almost completely covered by posters, drawings, pictures, etc.

Do you think you could help me?

Sincerely, Kayla

Comments on How to Tastefully Arrange Pictures on Wall
by: Samantha

Hi Kayla, Samantha here. I'm not sure, but it sounds like you're still young enough where you may be able to get away with having unorganized walls. When you're younger, your room is considered your space for self expression. Now, I'm not sure what type of inspection you're going to have, but as long as there's no holes in the walls, adults will understand an adolescent's need for self expression in their room.

What I mean is that it's okay to hang stuff on your walls and people will understand and appreciate your love for horses based on your age. Now if you're in your thirties or forties and your walls are decorated like this, they probably won't understand.

So, the best way to organize a wall is to put up only those pictures that you really like. To make it look even neater, put some construction paper behind them to frame them. Same goes for a poster, just lay it on the floor with the right side down, and with a glue stick or tape, put construction paper around the edges. You can make it nice and neat or layer them haphazardly for a fun effect. Now before you put your pics on the wall, you'll want to arrange them on the floor first so you'll have an idea of how they will look on the wall.

What to do with all the leftover pics you don't put on the wall? Do what my daughter does, she's fortunate enough to have a walk in closet. She puts all of her pics that she doesn't want on her bedroom walls inside her closet. You can also put those pictures on the back of your bedroom door too.

Good luck to you and I hope this helps!

God Bless,

Samantha
