1. Goal for the Month - Change Your Life One Goal at a Time

In this section of the newsletter we work on changing our lives for the better by setting goals each month and I've been on hiatus with the newsletter for a while, but I'm back.

I've continued to do pretty good on my goals, but I've brought things down in life a few notches. In other words, I'm looking at the big picture more nowadays, and I don't feel guilty about what doesn't get done. I've also started turning off the mental whining I usually do when I want to procrastinate over some unpleasant work or home task. I just role up my sleeves to work hard and get the job done fast and efficiently whatever it is, and I'm actually accomplishing a lot more.

For instance, today, I knew I was going to be tired as I stayed up with a sick kid last night. I know I should kick the coffee habit, but I love it, it makes me feel good, so I had a couple of cups and didn't feel guilty. I had a mountain or two of laundry to do along with a couple of my kids to take to and from school, all at different and inconvenient times. I had a workout I needed to do for me to feel good. There was dinner to make, potty training to do, breakfasts and lunches for some finicky kids, five posts to write for some blogs I'm working on... you get the point, too much to do and only one person to do it all.

I always start the day in prayer, and I took some more time to think about my day and prioritize it around what needed to get done, I put my heart into everything I did and worked hard, and it turned out to be a good day after all. Definitely last but not least, I made my kids a priority. I got down on the floor and played with them. They are the reason I gave up the corporate world after all and what I got back was pure joy that only our kids can give us.

Now, not everyday is that blissful, far from it, but taking time to look at the big picture and realizing what's important and having my actions follow have been a real stress reliever.

So, think about something in your life you'd like to work on and make a commitment to yourself here to change it for the better. Now, my goal this month is to continue to work on a daily routine for my family including me and not feel guilty if things don't go according to plan.

3. Coming next month at Life Organize It...

Controlling Clutter. As we make our way into the new year - can you believe 2009 is gone? Anyways, to get ready for 2010, we'll take a look at clutter in and around the house and learn how to control it one item and section at a time.

4. Welcome to the Organize-It-Mom e-zine. This month's hot topic - Get money back from your Christmas shopping!

Are you tired of everyone asking if you're ready for Christmas? Are you done shopping? The typical answer is we're never ready and no, we're never done shopping until we say enough is enough. Now, I'm a complete nerd and did all of my shopping already. I still have to buy a gift for my Mom and a couple for the neighbors that stop by, but I can say with complete confidence..."I think I'm done."

To save some money and stress this year, I did the majority of my shopping online this year. I went through a neat little site that pays you cash back called Ebates.

I love Ebates. All you have to do is sign up to their site and shop at all of the stores you'd normally shop at and you get a percentage of your purchase back! I earn a check every quarter from my online shopping!

I did some serious shopping and saved a lot of money on Black Friday. For instance, I bought my husband some winter sports wear from Eddie Bauer as they had a 30% off sale. By going through Ebates first, I received an additional 6% cash back from my purchase. I ended up saving almost 40%. I also bought myself a couple of items from Ann Taylor as they were having a 40% off sale and with my Ebates cash back of 6%, I saved almost 50%.

Have fun saving while you shop and remember this month to continue to set a goal(s) for yourself and have a blessed Christmas and Happy New Year!

Have a wonderful month!
