How I Made Peace with a Messy Life and Got Smart About Closet Storage!
Hello, my name is Sam, and I absolutely have to have an organized home, specifically closet storage! Here I am pregnant with our fourth (and tired, but happy)... multi tasking away... washing two of our kids at the same time. I’m a mother of two more for a total of four great kids ages 12 to brand new and love it. With so many people under one roof, storage can be a problem. How do you fit six people in a 2000 square foot home with limited closet storage??? Actually, it's very simple, just remember the following - Remember the purpose of the space you are organizing
- Declutter
- Categorize
- Designate a place for everything
Remember these four key points as you start your organizing journey and read the pages on my website. Enough about that and back to more about me and how I transitioned from the corporate world to here... a work at home mom. I enjoyed living in a clean and organized home from an early age. I especially enjoyed organizing closet storage, and was always on the lookout for how to clean and organize better and faster. I have always had a knack for being organized. I started running my mom’s household when I was around nine years. My grandma taught me how to run a house, cook, clean, and write a grocery list. I transferred these skills to the workplace when I finished my degrees and became a business analyst. This job challenged me to organize every aspect of my day! I had huge multi-million dollar projects to manage, tasks to delegate, time lines to meet, board of directors presentations to make, ahhhh! This job was a huge wake up call to my organizing sensibilities. And, I loved every minute of it! I was single mom when I first started this job and had a lot more time on my hands than I do now. It started with a few of my friends making comments on how organized I was at work and at home. They started asking for help in getting themselves organized... and it all kinda grew from there. I started using my organizing skills to help friends and family organize their businesses, closet storage, garages, kitchens, you name it. I fell in love with this and realized that I could start making some extra money, which was a great supplement to frugal living as a single mom! So, that’s how it all began, with something as simple as closet storage. Time passed and I got married and pregnant with my son. I was still working full time and running the professional organizing business on the side. As the pregnancy progressed, I got really tired and started to question if I really wanted to work outside the home. For those of you who work outside the home, I've been there, I know how tough it is! You miss out on so much of your kid's growing up. Their first step, their first word, their school activities, school parties, you name it, and it's downright tough, if not impossible to get time off to go see your kid. I'm not even going to mention the GUILT that I felt over not being at home with my first child. I'm at home now with my other three kids and I still feel guilty about not staying at home with my first child! I had no idea if we could afford for me to quit my full time career. It was a scary decision that took many agonizing months even after my son was born to make. I became even more of a penny pincher now that we were living on one income. Cheap living was our motto and we did just fine, but I was torn. I actually missed working, but would never go back to work and miss out on my kids growing up again. I thought about continuing professional organizing, but with so many kids (I added another two to the bunch for a total of four), it became really hard to get out of the house. I just couldn't get out to help other’s get organized. So, what I decided to do was to take all this organizing and closet storage knowledge and publish it on the web to share and help you get organized. In searching web design, I came across a site called
SBI,
which is an all in one package to develop a web site. It allows you to build your own web site without any technological knowledge. However, if you are a techy, SBI is for you too as you can upload HTML yourself. SBI makes it so easy to build a website that really anyone can do it. Since we were living on one income, I had to be a penny pincher on a strict budget. I researched
SBI
thoroughly and after several, and I mean several, question and answer sessions with them, I went for it and signed up. I haven’t been disappointed in SBI at all. The process is simple, pick a hobby, something you know a lot about, or something you’re really
passionate
about to build a website and follow their online and written guidelines to a “T”. SBI is fun and rewarding both emotionally and financially and I trust and recommend it. Best of all
SBI allows me to be a work at home mom.
I am able to stay at home with my kids and supplement my family's income. When I was a single mom, I had to work to earn money. I even ran a side business as a professional organizer to make extra money just to make ends meet. I never thought for one minute that I could earn money and stay at home with my first child like I do now with my other children. I wish I had known about SBI back then. Who knew my passion of organized closet storage could be so profitable? Here's a free
WAHM (Work at Home Mom) masters course
that will give you a better understanding of how SBI can help you become a WAHM or WAHD (Work at Home Dad). It's an awesome e-book with real life examples of WAHM's that have built successful websites. Thank you so much for visiting my website and taking time to share in my passion to organize. I wish you the best in both getting organized and realizing your passion whatever it is with SBI!
