****Note:**** We're a little early this month because Easter is this Sunday... already! And, I wanted to get you the new Easter pages below. Enjoy!

Remember last month we changed things a bit and added a section to this newsletter to set a goal or two each month in an effort to work towards creating a better life for ourselves. So, how did you do on your goal(s) last month?

Our assignment was to think about what you want/need to change in your life and set a goal for yourself.

Now my goals were to stop doing "too much" and go to bed by 9:30 each night. So, how did I do? Well, I stopped doing too much and got to bed earlier each night by being more disciplined in what I did throughout the day.

For instance, I took some of my own advice and thought about what I needed / wanted to get done throughout each day, wrote it down, prioritized, and got most of my stuff done in a reasonable time frame so I could get to bed earlier each night.

Overall I did pretty good, but I can tell I'm starting to fall off the wagon, as I'm staying up later each night.

So, if you're on track, great! If not, re-focus on your goal(s) with me, and let's set some more goal(s) for this month.

Here's mine, go to bed each night by 9:30 p.m., strength train 3-4x's a week (light weights/fast pace/high reps), and increase my protein intake. I'll talk about these last two goals later as they're really important for us women.

What's New at Life Organize It

Oh my, a lot is new here! Last month I did some minor complaining about how much I put out on this site while everyone in my family, including me was really sick with colds and bronchitis. I'm happy to report that I've started taking vitamin D3 at the suggestion of my doctor, and while everyone this month passed around colds again, including my husband, I stayed healthy! Yes, no colds, vitamin D3 worked wonders on boosting my immune system.

Welcome to the Organize-It-Mom e-zine.

Last month I talked about as I get older, like most women, my body isn't behaving weight-wise, energy-wise, and mood-wise. And, after a quick trip to the doctor, I found out my hormones were out of sync. We're still working on getting that all straightened out as it takes about three to nine months to get hormones in sync again.

And, I've lost quite a bit of weight too on the Warrior Diet (yeah, another 4 pounds!). You can find more info about the Warrior Diet here at www.LifeOrganizeIt.com/warrior-diet.html and I highly recommend this diet, so check it out with your doctor's blessing of course. I will tell you, after about eight weeks on this diet, I've noticed that I'm more flabby though, which is typical when you lose a lot of weight quickly. In working with a nutritionist, I found out that the rapid weight loss the Warrior Diet brings on, causes our muscles to flatten out.

So, I wanted to bring you another eating plan to transition off the Warrior Diet that offers a simple fix to this, but I'm still working on it. I want to try it out on me before I recommend it to you. Basically it's a lot more protein with lot of veggies and whole grain carbs in moderation. The protein, I'm told will help to continue to balance out my hormones and increase my testosterone, thereby increasing my muscle mass, in other words, less flab.

Oh, and sense my body (muscles & adrenal systems) are shot from having kids so close together, I get to take a break from cardio. Yeah! My exercise routine now consists of light weights, high repetitions, and fast paced. Kind of a circuit training method. My typical routine goes like this: 3-5 minutes fast walk/run on treadmill, then 5 minutes running on mini trampoline, then 5 minutes on my pilates reformer, then 5 minutes of kettlebells, etc. repeated over and over for 35 - 60 minutes a session 3 - 4x's a week. And, I love it! It beats running on a treadmill for 30-40 minutes straight any day!

So, fitness is really about changing things up. I've failed, or felt like I've failed at diets in the past because I've gotten bored with them, or have cheated. And, I can tell you that after many years of struggling with my weight, losing weight involves changing your approach every now and again. Don't view going off your diet as a failure, view it as a chance to re-focus and change your plan of action. Losing the 60 pounds I gained during my last pregnancy has involved me changing my eating plan at least a couple of times and my exercise plan a minimum of four times!

Most recently to deal with the last 'hard to get off pounds', I used the Warrior Diet, and if you need to lose weight quickly, or jump start a weight loss program, you will see results quickly with this diet, and that is so motivating.

For long term weight loss benefits though, I don't recommend the Warrior Diet, and I'm working on bringing you an eating plan that's for long term weight loss and maintenance.

The same goes for fitness. Change it up every so often. That's when you get the most benefit.

So, that basically explains my last two goals of strength train 3-4x's a week (light weights/fast paced/high reps), and increase my my protein intake along with why I haven't released the other page on eating for weight loss.

One last thing I wanted to talk about is procrastination since I've received a couple of questions from readers over the past month about how to deal with procrastination. I recommend reading www.LifeOrganizeIt.com/overcoming-procrastination.html to help.

And, I wanted to share something with you that happened to me that I thought was funny. As you know one of my goals for past month was to stop 'doing too much'. So, I decided to take some of my own advice and be nice to myself by spending more time outside in the beautiful weather here working on a garden and planting flowers when I can steal a few moments to myself.

I don't know why, but to be honest with you, I was mentally procrastinating taking time to do something nice for myself. So, I took some time to think about why I was procrastinating and was surprised that I was kind of 'waiting' for my husband to give the okay to do this!

How crazy is that?! I was still, after being divorced from my first husband for over ten years, holding onto baggage from that marriage to a 'control freak'. Waiting for 'permission' from someone else to do something???? Give me a break! Here I am giving you advice to 'clear out the clutter and get rid of the old' and I'm hanging onto all my old 'mental baggage'. Wow, what a realization, So, I just shrugged it off, got a babysitter, took some time for myself, and went shopping for some fun flowers and garden stuff.

This month, set a goal(s) for yourself, clear out that 'mental clutter and old baggage', and enjoy your life!

Have a wonderful month!
